Beginner Sweater Class: Ludham Sweater
Ready to knit your first sweater? Join us for a guided, confidence-building class as we create the beautiful Ludham Sweater! This beginner-friendly garment introduces you to sweater construction while helping you build essential knitting skills along the way.
The Ludham Tee is knit using a peice together construction method, resulting in a flattering, set-in-sleeve-style fit. You will start by learning how to measure your body, how to read and apply it to the pattern. This pattern is written in UK termanology and we will go over how to navigate the instructions. You’ll begin by making the front and back pieces and then the sleeves. From there, you will learn how to construct and put the sweater together and how to tie in your ends and finally blocking and finishing the sweater.
Throughout this class, you’ll gain hands-on experience with:
- Measuring your body and how to apply it to the pattern
- Guage how to get it and how to apply it to your sweater
- Knitting flat and working each piece
- Basic increases and decreases
- Picking up stitches
- Working ribbing
- seaming and finishing techniques
- blocking
