This beginner-friendly crochet class is the perfect introduction to garment making! Throughout this class, you will learn the skills needed to confidently create a beautiful, custom-fit cardigan.
In this class, you will learn:
- How to take accurate body measurements
- How to apply your measurements to the pattern to ensure the correct fit
- How to read and understand a crochet garment pattern
- How to make and measure a gauge swatch
- How gauge affects the finished size of your garment
- How to create ribbing
- How to increase and decrease stitches
- How to construct a garment worked in one piece from back to front
- How to seam and finish your cardigan
Prerequisites:
Students must be able to do a slip knot, chain, single, and double crochet.
The Peek-A-Boo Cardigan is worked as a single piece from the back to the front, making it an excellent project for crocheters who are ready to move beyond basic scarves and blankets and learn garment construction techniques.
This class meets for 2 hours every other Friday for a total of 5 classes, allowing plenty of time to work on your project between sessions and receive guidance along the way.
